TASTING
Intensity and Quaffer
The Château Coucy wine is coated with an intense garnet-red colour with violet highlights, with a nose revealing intense notes of ripe red and black fruit, dominated by blackcurrant. Hints of spice and vanilla add a real complexity to this wine.
The mouth is round and greedy, balanced with the freshness of good acidity. The tannins are supple and silky. There are aromas of red fruit and a finish with toasty, roasted notes.
This wine can be enjoyed now, but aeration is recommended. The complex structure gives this wine the potential to be kept for several years, so it will be just as enjoyable to drink.

VITICULTURE
85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc
After the harvest, the grapes undergo two sortings: one on a vibrating table and the other using a densimetric bath. These sortings are essential to eliminate any undesirable elements and to select the most qualitative berries.
VINIFICATION
The grapes are then transferred to concrete vats where the tannins, colour and aromas are extracted at a controlled temperature of a maximum of 28°C, by punching down and pumping over. Malolactic fermentation then takes place to add roundness to the wine.
AGEING
Aging lasts for a minimum of 12 months in barrels, with 1/3 of production in barrels and 2/3 in vats. All our barrels are made of French oak.
